What's New With The HSD Gen 2?

Interested in learning the difference between the Gen 1 and Gen 2 HSD models? Let's go through the differences together!

New HSD vs Old HSD

OUR FIRST SHIPMENT OF GEN 2 HSD BIKES IS HERE! (As of Oct 14th)

Tern is releasing a new, updated Gen 2 HSD family of bikes, and phasing out production on Gen 1. If you were previously interested in purchasing an HSD and want to know the differences, or if you've already got one and want to see what's new, I've put together a chart for you to easily go through some of the new features, and see what's new and different!

Here are some of the key features on the Gen 2 HSD:

  • The frame is now stronger and stiffer, allowing for a higher weight capacity!
  • The Gen 2 has a new Bosch Smart System, featuring Bluetooth phone connectivity, built-in alarm, and GPS on S-Class models.
  • There is a fully reverse compatible accessory lineup, except for the Duostand Kickstand Gen 1 – There is now a Gen 2 update.

Other differences have been highlighted below in this handy chart, with things that are different highlighted in red, things that are similar highlighted in yellow, and things that are the same highlighted in green.

If you've got any questions about the chart, pop them in the comments below!

If you'd like to get in touch for a test ride, book it here!
