Outdoor Gear Essentials

Outdoor Gear Essentials

Nothing beats the great outdoors! Whether it's full blown camping or just a day at the park we have some fun and affordable stuff to enhance your time outside!

You might not know that we stock a range of fun and affordable camping and outdoor gear to make the most of your time outside. We are going to take a moment to highlight a few of the offerings we have - feel free to click the images as they link directly to our webshop listings. Not everyone has camped or cooked outside so to get things started we will first talk about portable stoves and fuel! We stock this great little backpackers stove AND compatible fuel canisters (sold separately).

This stove is small but wide enough to not only manage a cup but also a small to medium camp pot setup too! These are essential if you want to enjoy coffee or tea on the go or maybe even cook a nice warm little meal on the go (the perfect excuse to extend your riding season into fall with some toasty rewards on cool days). My personal ride favourites - tea is super easy and won't require much additional gear (like coffee does) but if you want something a little more hearty - instant miso soup or ramen are great quick and easy light and warm ride/picnic meals while on the go.

If you want to just get started with some camp cooking you can do so with the stove, fuel and this handy little "Mug-Pot with lid" it has a built in strainer too which greatly enhances its overall utility.

And of course if your getting into more elaborate cooking - don't forget the cutlery!

If you want to get a little more elaborate we of course stock these great little backpackers cook sets that have both an 800ml and 500ml setup in a nice little package with a carrying case.

If you plan to be out for more than just a ride - maybe a multi day camp out- I might recommending bringing something to clean up! Camp suds are a fantastic biodegradable multi-purpose detergent concentrate that will quickly become part of your camp essentials. I often joke that I bring everything PLUS a kitchen sink...but I'm actually referring to my trust "Ortlieb Folding Bowl" which is a great multi purpose vessel. its great to grab water from the tap or lake but its really thrives as a compact folding wash basin (available in multiple sizes). But of course can be handy to give water to your furry friends or even to give them a little wash before they climb into the tent with you!

And honorable mention too is the iconic "World Famous Haversack" - this great little shoulder bag is equally at home heading to school as it is going off for a hike and you can't beat that price! I've often used them as internal suitcase organizers when I travel since they are a handy day-bag while on vacation. Plus they are available in two sizes - "Giant" and "Regular". Also a great way to transport a little compact cook setup too!

Maybe camping isn't your speed and cooking outside is more work than you care for...we also got stuff for you lounging needs! Fleece park blankets with a built in carrying handle and a waterproof underside to keep yourself dry and comfy!

Another new product that we are excited to offer is the Camp Snap Camera - a screen free digital camera that feels just like a disposable! Super light, comes with a memory card and has a nice long battery life that gives you the freedom to shoot away and not get lost into menu diving and photo review. Just like the good ol' days but minus all the film processing fees!

And if you made it this far...don't forget bubbles! Especially if you got kids or babies around. I've personally found surprise bubbles are one of the best ways to create a nice little energy shift and distraction when you might be on the verge of a meltdown or tantrum!

Happy trails, cookin', relaxin' and bubblin'
