Helmets are such an incredibly important consideration for cycling. They are your last line of defense in case of a crash. Most bicycle helmets are made from Expanded Polystyrene Foam (EPS) and would therefore be single impact - so if you have a crash its best to replace the helmet. This is also why our helmets are final sale; therefore we always encourage you to come in to our shop to have our sales team help make sure you get the best possible fit for maximum safety - but this page is a great reference to browse our selection! A common question we get is what is the difference between entry level and premium? Largely that would be weight - the more you spend the less a helmet generally weighs but different design considerations can impact the final cost too. Another note and a good general guideline is that even if you have not had any crash or impact on your helmet it is recommended to replace them roughly every 5 years- helmets do break down over time, from factors like UV rays or every sweat exposure so this will vary case by case a bit. Different brands will also fit slightly different shaped heads so yet another great reason to come try some on in person!
Another note - you see most of our helmets come with MIPS, some will list it in the description while others put it right in the model name. Here's a little blurb from MIPS to explain what it is all about!
