Tern's GSD and HSD: How to choose?!

Tern's GSD and HSD: How to choose?!

Breakdown of our E-Cargo offerings from Tern Bicycles

In a world of mid-sized, long tail and compact cargo bikes, it can be tough to find the right option for your style. After all, every load of cargo is special. Just like you! Luckily, Tern offers two versatile and well engineered pedal assist cargo bikes for you to do literally anything you want with. Stay with me for a sec and I can help narrow down your options.

Long tail cargo bikes are easy to adjust to with little to no learning curve, and the small wheels give a low center of gravity- increasing stability. Both the GSD and HSD offer a wide range of range of accessories to make it exactly what YOU need. With the Bosch Line Active+ Cargo line on both models as well, hills feel flat and you live life with a constant tailwind. Life doesn't get better than that!

While Tern is a folding bike brand, calling these "folding Cargo bikes" might be a little bit of a stretch as both frames are rigid. However, the folding aspect comes into play on these bikes in just the right spot. Tern's proprietary folding stem assembly and telescoping seatpost make these incredibly easy to store and super adjustable for different heights of riders. Got a small Toronto apartment? Fold down the stem, stand it up on the integrated vertical storage buffer and BAM - suddenly you have room in your house for a cargo bike.

So, how to narrow it down? Since both bikes offer tons of the same features, the biggest differentiation is how much you wanna haul. 2 Kids or industrial level carrying capacity? GSD with the bigger rack and payload. One extra rider and some stacked up grocery trips? HSD will haul what you need.
