Have you been curious about bikepacking, but weren’t sure where to start? We’ve got you!

We’re excited to announce an Intro to Bikepacking Workshop Series, perfect for beginners and curious cyclists looking to explore the great outdoors by bike!

These workshops will be perfect for anyone who's ever wanted to tour the world by bike, but aren't sure how to get started, or can't find any accessible resources on how to do so!

We’ll have some experienced bike travelers coming through to tell you about their journeys by bike, and giving you the information you need to do it too! You’ll also have the opportunity to put everything you’ve learned into practice with a Capstone Campout.

What you’ll learn

• How to choose the right bike & gear
• What to pack and how to pack it
• Camp cooking & what to eat
• Navigation & route planning
• How to adapt when things don’t go as planned

The instructional workshop sessions for the Intro to Bikepacking Workshop Series take place in-person at Urbane Cyclist (280 College St) on May 22nd at 6:00 PM and May 25th at 3:30 PM, and there will be a capstone campout from May 31st to June 1st.

• Session 1 takes place on May 22nd at 6:00 PM and will be led by Twoey and Alix. They will be telling us all about their journeys by bike, going over what you need to get started, travelling on a budget, and nutrition on the road!
  
  
• Session 2 takes place on May 25th at 3:30 PM and will be led by Sarah and Trish. They'll be telling us about their travels, how to bike tour in a different country, route planning, and on-the-road repairs.
  
  
• The Capstone Campout will be May 31st to June 1st at Indian Line Campground, with departure from Urbane Cyclist at 12:30 PM. The route is a little over 30 km, with the option to roam around Claireville following campsite setup.

Tickets are priced on a sliding scale from $0 - $30. This goes towards helping us offset the costs of booking the campsite!

• Workshop spots are limited to 15 participants, and we strongly encourage only participants who are absolutely certain they can make it to all the sessions to get a ticket!
• We will be emailing all participants to confirm attendance. If you have purchased a ticket but can no longer attend, no worries! Please send us an email as soon as you know so we can make the spot available to someone else!
