Phil Wood introduced the now-standard Field Serviceable Axle (FSA) in 1991. The FSA design enables the axle to be separated from the hub after unthreading the end caps using two hex wrenches. The quick release axles use a 5 mm hex wrench and the bolt axle hubs use an 8 mm hex wrench. Our axles are threaded externally, with the end caps threaded to exactly match the axle thread. The hubs use shouldered axles that precisely position the bearings. The Field Serviceable Cassette (FSC) design enables you to remove the axle (as in our FSA hubs) and easily perform maintenance on both the hub bearings and the Phil freehub body mechanism. Our freehub body is available in 8,9,10 and 9, 10, 11-speed Shimano compatible. The axles are precision ground to 15 mm in diameter. The hub shells use a unique Hi-Lo flange configuration enabling better balanced spoke tension.

Our lightest weight hubset designed specifically for road bikes. We engineered the T11 hubset to be light without sacrificing durability. In today's market there is a demand for light weight components. We understand the market, and, yet, we also understand that quality of craftsmanship, design, and engineering are also vital in producing a product that will stand the test of time. When designing the rear hub shell we decided upon a high/low flange which allows for better spoke tension when dishing a wheel that is spaced to 130mm. The hub design maximizes aerodynamic efficiency - always a goal for road riders. Unique to the T11 is our titanium freehub body in a choice of Shimano or Campy configurations. Titanium, we feel, is the best choice for the freewheel application since it is nearly as light as aluminum and has the equivalent strength to many forms of steel. The rear hub is 11 speed compatible and, with provided spacer, can be run with 9 and10 speed systems.

White Industries' Eric's Eccentric ENO hub is used to convert a multi-speed bike with vertical dropouts into a single-speed/fixed gear. Most bicycle frames today are made with vertical dropouts, so converting a bike into a single speed presents the problem of how to tension the chain. The eccentric rear hub allows the rider to adjust the chain tension by rotating the elliptical axle ends up and back in the dropouts. As the hub rotates back, the chain is pulled into tension.
