You may not have thought about your quick release skewers until you get a flat or it's just the "thing" you undo when you put your bike on the roof rack, so why get an upgraded skewer? Salsa''s Flip-Off skewers where one of their first products long before fatbikes or gravel bikes were even thought of to provide a solid connection between your wheels and bicycle frame. The Flip-Off quick release skewers use a longer lever than a traditional skewer to provide better leverage resulting in a tight, more secure fit. To prevent the wheel from shifting in the dropout Salsa adds a stainless steel knurled surface to provide plenty of bite in softer materials such as carbon, aluminum or CroMo. To add some beauty to the brawn Salsa makes the Flip-Offs in a bunch of colors to match the color scheme you have worked hard to create on your bike.

The Flip-Off 135mm quick release skewer will work as a rear skewer for mountain and road bikes using a standard 130/135mm hub. This quick release skewer will also work as a fatbike front skewer for those bikes that use a 135mm front hub, such as the first generation Salsa Mukluk and Surly Pugsley or MoonLander fatbikes.

  • 6061 Aluminum lever
  • Stainless steel shafts are 5mm
  • Rear skewers weigh 54g
  • Rear skewer can be used as a fatbike front skewer
