To brake or to disc brake? The debate isn't getting any colder and Surly decided it's best to let you choose. Straggler is bred from Surly's revered rim-brake Cross-Check and comes out a lot the same, but also a little different. Frame geometry is pretty close, and you get all the attachment provisions for racks, fenders, and bottle cages that make these bikes something more utilitarian than a standard 'cross racer. Disc brakes are the obvious change though, and the Straggler sports Hayes CX Experts with 160mm rotors front and rear. The athletic character continues with a SRAM Apex 2x10 drivetrain, giving you a useful gear range for any type of riding you can dream up, and continues with 32-hole alloy Alex XD-E Lite rims wrapped in Surly's own super-versatile 700c x 41 Knard rubber. A Salsa Cowbell handlebar is great for riding on mixed terrain, too, giving you a bit more control when it's loose while retaining comfortable positioning for cranking into the wind. Make it your gravel explorer on weekends, your trusty commuter during the week, and go collect all the hand-ups when cyclocross season rolls around. This Straggler's lookin' for a good time and you seem like the type to oblige.

Urbane Cyclist is proud to present our own take on All-City's new Space Horse Disc framset! Even if you own a different bike for everything, it's still necessary to have one that can do it all. That bike is the Space Horse. Our most popular and versatile model, the Space Horse has become a cult favorite because of its classic styling and ability to handle just about any task or terrain. With the addition of the all-weather control of disc brakes, and the ability to fit smaller riders better by utilizing 650b wheels on the 43cm and 46cm versions, this updated Space Horse is without a doubt the best version yet. The geometry is a mix of traditional road and randonneur, with a relatively short rear end and a bottom bracket that’s slightly lower than a standard road bike. This gives it both agile handling for riding unbridled and increased stability when loaded. This blend of geometry and our 612 Select tubing creates a bike that is capable of quick road centuries, gravel racing, commuting, and of course loaded touring. Just like its cantilever predecessor, the Space Horse Disc is able to accommodate front and rear racks, fenders, and tires up to 42c in size for the 700c bikes and 45c for the 650b version. It also utilizes a new dropout with a replaceable derailleur hanger. All of the classic All-City touches are present: signature brazed-on seat collar, pantographed bottom bracket shell, pump peg, reinforcements on the bottle bosses and a beautiful lugged crown fork. The fork sports both a double eyelet on the dropout and mid-blade mounts to allow you to use pretty much whatever front rack you wish.

The Steamroller is the bicycle in its simplest form — the fixie. You may be thinking, “Fixies are so 2008” or “All the blogs I read say I should like something different now.” Well, the Steamroller is different. Built for the streets, it has a geometry that’s closer to that of a road bike than a true track bike. Couple that with its double-butted 4130 CroMoly steel construction and 38c tire clearance and you have yourself a lively and resilient ride that can handle potholes, grass shortcuts, urban trails, and back alleys like a champ. You need only peruse the Steamroller Image Dump to see just how versatile such a simple machine can be. As one of the first models we ever produced, the Steamroller is truly like a member of the family. And we’re talking one of the ones we actually like, not your weird Uncle Norman that insists on showing you his magic tricks while always finding a way to ruin Thanksgiving. It was our innate fondness for it that prompted us to bring it back as a complete bike after only offering a frame and fork option for a couple of years. The Steamroller complete is done up right with durable parts that can take some abuse. It’s even spec’d with a flip flop hub and front and rear rim brakes if you find that freewheeling is more your style. The Steamroller has become a favorite for many a bike nerd over the years, and for good reason. It’s versatile, simple, and smoother than a swig of whiskey in winter on all sorts of terrain.

All-City's Big Block is the face of modern fixed-gear riding, equally as at home on city streets as it is pounding the boards at the local velodrome. The classic 612 Select chromoly steel frame soaks up bumps and sprints like a champ, so you can transition seamlessly from the street to the track. Instead of the track bike norm 25c max tire clearance, it fits a 32c cross tire and has a single set of water bottle mounts for all day in the saddle. The front and rear of the bike are drilled out for a brake, so single speeding (or double brake fixed) is no problem. All-City's own 612 track crank and fixed cog turn over a pair of Sun/All-City wheels wrapped in Vittoria tires—a rock-solid drivetrain for competition and around-town escapades. An All-City saddle provides an excellent perch, and the package is finished off with a custom headtube badge, brazed-on seat collar, custom bottom bracket, and signature Hennepin Bridge dropouts, all ED coated for rust protection.

Our lightest weight hubset designed specifically for road bikes. We engineered the T11 hubset to be light without sacrificing durability. In today's market there is a demand for light weight components. We understand the market, and, yet, we also understand that quality of craftsmanship, design, and engineering are also vital in producing a product that will stand the test of time. When designing the rear hub shell we decided upon a high/low flange which allows for better spoke tension when dishing a wheel that is spaced to 130mm. The hub design maximizes aerodynamic efficiency - always a goal for road riders. Unique to the T11 is our titanium freehub body in a choice of Shimano or Campy configurations. Titanium, we feel, is the best choice for the freewheel application since it is nearly as light as aluminum and has the equivalent strength to many forms of steel. The rear hub is 11 speed compatible and, with provided spacer, can be run with 9 and10 speed systems.

White Industries' Eric's Eccentric ENO hub is used to convert a multi-speed bike with vertical dropouts into a single-speed/fixed gear. Most bicycle frames today are made with vertical dropouts, so converting a bike into a single speed presents the problem of how to tension the chain. The eccentric rear hub allows the rider to adjust the chain tension by rotating the elliptical axle ends up and back in the dropouts. As the hub rotates back, the chain is pulled into tension.
