It has been roughly 10 years since the 'Getaround' handlebar was born. During that decade passed, bikes have evolved and so has Simworks. While staying true to our humble beginnings, and the classic elements that we believe shape a beautiful and functional bicycle we are pleased to now offer a modernized take on the trusted and beloved 'Getaround Bar'. Now crafted in heat-treated Aluminum, an alternative option in the classic 'Getaround' shape- now with a larger 31.8mm bar clamp diameter, as well as wider overall bar width, stretched to 750mm. The Simworks exclusive 'Stealth Gray" anodized finish and silkscreen graphics round out an attractive and comfortable update to a timeless classic. Getaround Stealth bar- much like it's older brother, will make for an outstanding handlebar on any bike from your trail battered off-road machine to your trusted townie. A 10 year staple in the Simworks lineup of fine handlebar offerings, Little Nick has provided riders desiring a no nonsense, sharp lined, zero-rise flat bar with a more ergonomic perch for their hands, by way of a handsome 15 degree flare. Flash forward from that origin bar and we're pleased to offer this updated alternative. The same characteristics that made the original Little Nick a favorite amongst cyclists, are transposed here in a slightly wider width of 750mm, and a larger bar clamp diameter of 31.8mm- a size more commonly seen with today's threadless stems, including our own Rhonda, Anne Lee and Caroline. In addition to these new dimensions, 'Little Nick Stealth' is constructed of heat-treated Aluminum, anodized in a Simworks exclusive 'Stealth Grey'. Slightly lighter in weight than the original Little Nick bar- which is constructed of Chromoly, you've now got a modernized handlebar option that will allow you to steer confidently under the radar. Just like with a standard drop bar, you’ll have multiple hand positions at your disposal so you can stay comfortable and in control for the long haul down the Big Slab. This is the bar that Chris always wanted. After riding with several different French, American, and Japanese rando bars, he designed this bar to his ideal. It has substantial flare for a wide stance in the drops. The bend is round and open, as on our course bar. The area behind the hoods is long and flat for extra comfort. The drops are long so you can slide you hands well back. The Grand Cru crest appears on each side of the clamp area. The center section is highly polished. The area under the bar tape has a "bead blasted" finish. This is a great bar for touring, riding off-pavement, and tandems. The Rando bar has a medium drop, 130mm. The reach (measured from the stem clamp forward) is about 120mm. Available in 42, 44, 46, and 48cm center-to-center at the ends; there 60mm of flare.

Dimension Road handlebars are available in 25.4 and 26.0mm clamp diameters and have double grooves for cable routing.
We went a bit wild with the Left Bank handlebar's design. It is a full 49cm wide, 7cm wider than a traditional French bar, but still narrower that many British/American-style bars. The grips flare outward a bit to appeal to the less restrained cyclist. Given its radical nature it can only be named the Left Bank handlebar, after that section of Paris, the Latin Quarter on the left bank of the Seine, that was historically populated by students and leftist philosophers. The stem clamp diameter is 25.4mm and are bulged, rather than sleeved, so they will not squeak. Polished alloy. Reach is about 18cm. These bars are available in two tubing diameters, 23.8mm road sized and 22.2mm mountain-bike- sized (clamp area is 25.4mm on both): 22.2mm (MTB-size) bars accept MTB brake levers and clamp-on shifters. They do not work with bar-end shifters. The only inverse levers that work are Dia Compe levers in the 22.2mm size. 23.8mm (road-size) bars accept standard inverse brake levers, standard bar-end shifters, and 23.8mm city brake levers. In short, anything made for road bars fits. They do not accept MTB levers or shifters.
Velo Orange's Milan bar is so named because it's a great bar for converting an old Italian racing frame with a short top tube. Actually, it's great for converting any frame with a short top tube into a city bike. Folks who like a more aggressive position on a city bike will like it, too. The width is about 570mm and reach is 110mm; there is around 25mm (approximately one inch) of rise. The grips sweep back about 35 degrees, and the grip area is about 170mm long. The clamp area is 25.4mm. The material is polished aluminum alloy. Milan bars work with regular MTB (22.2mm) grips, brakes, shifters, 22.2 inverse brake levers, etc., but not bar-ends.
Remember those great Belleri Porteur bars from France? Of course Belleri is long out of business, but those handlebars are still sought-after. So, Velo-Orange decided to make their own Porteur bars. They are 480mm wide; reach is 140mm. The grip area is about 130mm, and they have about 15mm of rise or drop. The clamp area is 25.4mm. The quality and polishing are very nice. The transition from the grip to the curve on the originals was a bit abrupt; The Velo-Orange version has a gentler transition. The curves on both versions are fuller and, we think, prettier than the somewhat similar Champs Elysées bars used on the old Herse bikes. These bars are available in two tubing diameters, 23.8mm road-sized and 22.2mm mountain bike-sized (clamp area is 25.4mm on both): - 22.2mm diameter (MTB-size) bars accept MTB brake levers and clamp-on shifters. They do not work with bar-end shifters. The only inverse levers that work are Dia Compe levers in the 22.2mm size. - 23.8mm diameter (road-size) bars accept standard inverse brake levers, standard bar end shifters, and 23.8mm city brake levers. In short, anything made for road bars fits. They do not accept MTB levers or shifters.
Chris has owned a much-loved ancient Italian city bike handlebar for many years. It's a little like our Milan bar, but with zero rise. We've long wanted a similar bar, but with slightly longer grips. It's finally here and called the Postino bar after a wonderful Italian film. The Postino bar is ideal for those who like a slightly forward position and those who like to ride fast. Like the Milan bar it's ideal for converting old racing bikes for urban use. 22.2mm diameter accepts standard mountain bike and city bike controls. 57cm wide, zero rise. 25.4mm stem clamp area.
Velo Orange's Tourist bar is a "North Road" style bar rendered in polished aluminum alloy. It's similar to the bars used on many classic British roadsters. The clamp area is 25.4mm in diameter. The width is 570mm and the reach is 180mm; it has about 70mm of rise. They sweep back about 60-degrees, and the grip area is about 160mm long. The Tourist accepts regular MTB (22.2mm) grips, brakes, and shifters, but not inverse levers or bar-end shifters.
We call this the Milan bar because it's a great bar for converting old Italian racing frames with a short top tube. Actually it's great for converting any frame with a short top tube into a city bike. Folks who like a more aggressive position on a city bike will like it too. The width is about 57cm; reach is 11cm; there is around 25mm (one inch) of rise; the grips sweep back about 35-degrees; the bulge is 25.4mm; and the grip area is about 17cm long. The material is polished aluminum alloy. Milan bars work with regular MTB (22.2mm) grips, brakes, shifters, etc, but not inverse levers or bar-ends.
