The GRAND TOUR has the potential to become the new tubus classic. Thanks to its narrow but functional loading surface, it combines stability and extreme rigidity in a subtle design. The luggage carrier feet are reduced with a minimalistic tubular design. Likewise, the GRAND TOUR packs the 26 kg load easily, making it almost essential on modern touring bikes. It will also serve you loyally for many years thanks to its second loading level and the possibility of using tension belts across or along the carrier.
Lowrider or highrider? Just take both! Tubus presents the first combo carrier having characteristics of both systems: lateral riding stability thanks to a low center of gravity, and cargo space on top for bulky gear such as camping mattress and sleeping bag. Choose the lowrider GRAND EXPEDITION FRONT and say goodbye to compromises regarding luggage transport. That’s Tubus. Not suitable for mounting on spring or carbon forks without eyelets. The fork must be approved by the manufacturer, or by the bicycle manufacturer for mounting a carrier. There must be no crimping.
With beautiful looks and impressive strength, the stainless steel Tubus Cosmo is the top-of-the-line Tubus rear rack. With a carrying capacity of 40kg (88lbs) and non-rusting stainless steel, this rack has all the strength and carrying capacity of the Cargo rack, plus some extra features. The top platform is larger, with an extended rear section. This not only makes it easier to carry a top load or bag, but protects a rear mounted dynamo light. The side rails allow you to mount panniers lower, lowering the centre of gravity and improving the handling with a heavy load, while allowing you to use a rack-top bag without interference from the pannier hooks. All in all, one of the best racks available on the market today.
The Porteur Rack is a great option over the standard pannier rack or mini rack. With its wide platform, it is better at carrying odd-sized and bulky loads like a pizza or box full of kittens. You can strap a basket it and some bag makers are making bags specifically for this style of rack. - UPDATED: Additional interface with fork mini rack eyelets (If your fork doesn't have mini rack eyelets, you can still use the rack. This is just for additional stability and safety) - Designed for 700c and 26" wheel bicycles. - Adjustable height - CrMo construction (also available in Stainless Steel) - Mounts to hub axle - Platform is 14.25”w x 12”d - Lower horizontal strut can take a small bag or pannier - ED black - Extra eyelet for dynamo lamp or other gadget - Maximum Load: 10 kg (22 lbs.) - Weight: 2.65 lbs. *Being oversize, an additional shipping charge of $20 is applied and this does not qualify for free shipping
Surly Racks are well-thought-out, durable, expedition-worthy racks that work with most panniers. While their racks aren't limited solely to heavy duty touring, that is what they were designed for. When you're out on the road, the best option is to never ever have anything ever go wrong ever. Right? That's never a guarantee though; so having something that you can repair if it does break can be pretty clutch. Thus, the main bodies of Surly's front and rear racks are made from tubular CroMoly steel with stainless hardware. This means you can probably find someone out there that can torch it back into one piece in the rare instance things go south. The Front Rack is height adjustable and provides either a low or high pannier mounting position, which can be handy depending on terrain. When the ground gets rough, keep your gear high and dry. When the path is smooth and easy, you can load things low and keep everything balanced and stable, with the platform above the wheel providing yet more space for more stuff. It's worth mentioning they've redesigned the Front Rack hardware to be simpler to attach and more compatible with things like disc calipers and fenders. Surly also made attachment plates specifically for their Uni-Crown forks for yet more fork compatibility. This simpler design has fewer moving parts and costs less to manufacture; ergo, costs less for you to purchase. Surly's front rack WILL work with disc brakes on the Troll, Ogre, and Disc Trucker frames. It may take a bit of work to get clearance around the front caliper since the many different calipers out there are many different shapes. The new attachment plates will limit any DIY ingenuity you might need, but if you need to throw a washer or three behind the lower left bolt where the plate attaches to the fork dropout, that's not a big deal. As part of Surly's ongoing effort to make this planet last a little longer, they recently started shipping their racks with a small, reusable Surly Tool Bag that houses the rack struts and hardware. This switch helps eliminate the use of some polybags, thereby minimizing excess waste. Plus, you get a free tool bag out of the deal. Surly Front Rack will haul up to 32kg (70 lb) of well-secured, well-balanced gear over roadways and maintained off-road trails. Front Rack specifications: - Tubing diameter: 10mm - Platform dimensions: 230 x 170mm - Weight: 1382g

The DUO is particularly suitable for tandems or touring bikes for medium loads, due to the construction with no u-bow above the front-wheel. The Duo requires forks with lowrider bosses All Tubus carriers are hand-made in Germany from 10mm - 0.5mm wall thickness cold-drawn steel. This makes them lighter and yet stiffer than the equivalent aluminium rack. Steel is also far more fatigue-resistant than aluminium - the major cause of failure. And steel can be repaired if the need ever arises. The carriers are finished in tough epoxy powder coating, except for the stainless carriers, which are hand-polished
